Madeline looks good for 75, doesn’t she?

Recently I attended the “Madeline in New York” show at the New York Historical Society. It commemorates the art of Ludwig Bemelmans and his association with New York. (The show is on view through October 19th.)

Later at the book store, my wife, daughter and I spotted the two books I had illustrated in the style of Bemelmans: Madeline and Her Dog and Madeline’s Tea Party. There was also the Madeline 75th Anniversary Edition which features the art I did for the pop-up scene of Paris.

The art seen here features a collage of the work I did for the Madeline in Paris Game. Click on the image below for a large view of some of the art that appeared on the board game.

Cheers!
